REMOVERS, FIXERS is a digital animation and sculptural installation that visualizes the lives of wetland bacteria. Methanotrophs, nitrosomonas and desulfobivrio are functional groups of wetland microbes that live at distinct depths in the soil and remove toxins from wetland environments. This work visualizes the invisible but critical world of wetland soils.
This project was made in collaboration with Dr. Otto Stein, Center for Biofilm Engineering at Montana State University. The project was made possible by Mountain Time Arts.
