Research and Evidence

Documentation of installation investigating the laboratory as a site where knowledge is created and or discovered, and in this case understood through art. Installation includes a series of oil paintings on vellum of Arctic marine diatoms, an animation of the organism Planktoniella sol, drawings in pencil printed on transparencies, a logbook of lab notes and observations from a trip to the Arctic archipelago Svalbard, photographs from Arctic Norway and reference maps of ice melt in the Arctic. The installation is interactive, inviting viewers to look, explore, touch and consider the changes happening in the Arctic environment due to climate change.
