Hives
Hives ruminate on the climate crisis and its impact on pollinators. These sculptures utilize recycled plastics, beeswax and LED light, calling attention to the delicacy of insect species and the threat that artificial materials pose to non-human animal species.
Hives are taking a journey across the western US acting as beacons in various locations from Bozeman, MT to Southern California. Hives speaks to the connectivity of wild areas and rejects the imagined power of state and national borders, further crossing from the physical into digital world.
